Traveling to the Bahamas could prove to be so much fun, but of course, like most travel trips it is dependent on how much preparation is made towards the journey. Below are some items you would need to provide if you intend putting in an application for a Bahamian business visa.

  1. One Bahamian Visa application form should be completely filled and signed.
  2. Original passport and one photocopy of information page. The passport should be valid for 6 months beyond stay and with at least one blank passport page available for visa stamp(s).
  3. Passport photograph (2 x 2) with a plain/light background.
  4. Letter from employer or sponsoring company written on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant’s employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Bahamas.
  5. Trade register excerpt or the like (for self-employed).
  6. Business bank statement for the latest 6 months
  7. Original invitation letter, signed by the inviting company on the company letter paper, providing information about the nature of the business to be conducted, travel data, name, passport number of the invitee, specifying the type and desired validity of the visa (i.e. a one year multiple entry business visa)
  8. Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Bahamas.
  9. An official business letter to support your application.
  10. Flight Itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and departure from Bahamas.
  11. Accommodation/hotel reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Bahamas.
  12. A proof of your civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse if applicable).
  13. The application fee has to be the EXACT amount and only in U.S. dollars in the form of a bank draft, a bank money order or a postal money order made payable to The Bahamas High Commission.

  5. Bank Statement.Copy of a recent bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds.
  6. Employment Letter.A letter from your employer/school (on business letterhead, with contact details), stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that you will be returning to your current job. If you are self-employed, include a copy of your business license and tax return. If you are retired please submit proof of your retirement fund.
  7. Hotel Reservations.Copy of confirmed hotel reservations.
  8. Personal Invitation. If visiting friends or family, you must provide letter of invitation with the contact information of the host and visitor, purpose and duration of the visit, confirmation of accommodation including the address, signature, and date. You will also need to provide proof of the host’s status in Bahamas ie. copy of their Bahamas passport’s information page, or, if they are not a citizen of Bahamas, copies of their Bahamas residence permit and their national passport’s information pages.
  9. Personal Letter. A personal letter from the applicant addressed to the Embassy of Belgium, explaining the purpose of the trip, dates of travel, cities to be visited, and place of accommodation.

  9. Business Invitation.A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Bahamas. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Bahamas, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
  • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Bahamas.
    • Specity the type and desired validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
